Lynchburg Launch Festival This family friendly event will offer: music, launch of the historic batteaux, art & crafts, kid's activities and games,fishing tournament, wildlife, history, blacksmith demonstration. All events are free and open to the public! A free trolley will run from Downtown parking areas all day! The Festival takes place from 10 am - 2 pm. More Info coming soon! The James River Batteau Festival The Festival is an eight day flat boat journey from Lynchburg to near Richmond in the tradition of the Batteau which once carried goods and passengers in Early America. The Batteax will launch at 11:00 am. Celebrate the James! Check back as we add events for the week of the Batteau Launch. More Information coming soon!
